The first recording of Unforgettable was done by Nat King Cole in 1951. It was arranged by Nelson Riddle, and released on Capitol Records receiving great commercial and critical success.
Cole re-recorded the track anew in 1961 in stereo, again using the Nelson riddle arrangement.
In 1991 Nat’s daughter, Natalie King Cole, released a ‘virtual’ duet of herself singing with her late father on an edited and reworked version of the original Nat King Cole recording, again receiving critical and commercial success four decades after the original release.
